
Walk the floor of almost any manufacturing plant and you'll find two very different kinds of cable management happening at once. There's the wiring built into machinery on the production line — conveyor motors, robotic arms, CNC controllers, packaging equipment — running continuously, often under vibration, heat, and exposure to oil or coolant. And there's the plant's own facility wiring for lighting, distribution, and auxiliary equipment that gets touched far less often but still needs to survive years between maintenance cycles.
Both are demanding in different ways, and both are usually bought by the same person: a maintenance engineer or plant electrical team working through an MRO (maintenance, repair, operations) budget rather than a one-time project spec. That buying pattern matters — it means reliability and easy replacement matter more here than almost anywhere else in VLC's customer base, because a failure on a running line isn't a scheduled event. What actually stresses cable management on a factory floor
Vibration. Rotating machinery, stamping presses, and conveyor systems put continuous mechanical stress on anything attached nearby. A cable tie or mount that isn't rated for sustained vibration works loose gradually, often unnoticed until a cable finally chafes through insulation or catches in moving machinery, which is a safety incident, not just a maintenance one.
Heat and temperature cycling. Machinery near ovens, furnaces, induction heating, or simply motors running continuously generates real heat at the wiring level, well above what office or light-commercial cable ties are rated for.
Oil, coolant, and chemical exposure. CNC machines, presses, and much of heavy manufacturing equipment routinely splash cutting fluid, hydraulic oil, or cleaning chemicals onto nearby wiring and cable runs — conditions that degrade standard nylon over time.

Every piece of industrial equipment has them — whether it's a standalone CNC controller or a full production-line PLC cabinet — and the same termination principles apply as panel building generally.
